Arraignment today for Cochise County drug ring suspects

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- Happening today 20 suspects from a major drug trafficking operation in Cochise County will be arraigned in Tucson.

The Pima County Superior Court is where the 20 suspects will be arraigned today at 1 p.m.

This all stems from a year-long investigation into a rather large cocaine trafficking operation.  According to authorities the drugs were smuggled from Mexico and into Tucson, then from Tucson they would go to street level dealers throughout Bisbee and Sierra Vista.  The DEA arrested 18 of their 21 suspects two weeks ago in a big bust, included in the suspect list was a Cochise County Detention Officer.

Authorities arrested a woman in Phoenix the following day, that they believe is involved and another suspect turned himself in to law enforcement last week.

That makes 20 of 21 suspects in custody, with just one additional suspect still on the loose.
