ADOT schedules two days of work to improve SR 80, east of Bisbee | Events
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will work to improve a nine-mile segment of SR 80 between Bisbee and Douglas next week.
Travel restrictions will be in effect during application of an oil treatment on September 10 and 11 from just west of the junction of SR 80 and Double Adobe Road (milepost 348) to just east of Paul Spur Road (milepost 357).
A pilot vehicle will guide motorists through the area where the two-lane highway is reduced to a single lane between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. both days. Posted speed limits will be reduced approaching the project area in both directions and delays of up to 15 minutes are expected.
The oil treatment is designed to extend the life of the highway asphalt.
Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through the work zone and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about scheduled highway restrictions and closures, but unscheduled restrictions can occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
