Sierra Vista schedules controlled burns for EOP | Environment

The City’s Public Works Department will conduct several controlled burns at the Environmental Operations Park (EOP) north of State Route 90 beginning Wednesday, February 13 through Friday, March 29. <?xml:namespace prefix = o />

The burns will be during the week, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until noon each day.  In the case of windy or other unfavorable weather conditions, these burns will be rescheduled.

The burns are part of scheduled maintenance for the EOP to reduce mosquito population, clear the dead and dying vegetation to promote new growth, and aerate soil for the coming spring.
